Your beautiful bump is getting bigger and bigger by the day and before you know it you will have your beautiful baby in your arms all tiny, squiggy and just totally gorgeous. Trust me when I say that they don't stay that size for long.
what to look for in a newborn photographer
When looking for a newborn photographer, (make sure to start early, I tend to book up months in advance) there are few things to think about.
What style of photography do you like?
Do you like the posed images, or more natural?
How much experience does your photographer have photographing newborns?
Are you drawn to timeless images or more trendy styles?
Are siblings and family members included?
Are pets included?
Each photographer is different. Some of us specialize in newborns (really important for safety reasons if you are looking for a posed session), some are portfolio building. There is a photographer out there for everyone!
I always get asked “when is the best time to book my newborn baby photoshoot?” I will always advise expectant mums to book their newborn session after their 12 or 20 weeks scan. Basically the sooner the better. I only take a limited amount of newborn bookings each month to allow for early and late arrivals so I always recommend booking your slot as soon as you can that way I can promise a confirmed session when your baby decided to arrive. My sessions usually take place within 14 days (upto 21 days) of birth in my studio in Ardrossan, North Ayrshire. This time frame can be flexible for those little ones that where just too excited to see mummy and daddy and arrived early.
When you are in my studio I will promise to get you the most amazing pictures ever! Don’t get me wrong it is not always easy but you don't need to worry. I will take care of everything and all you need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the experience.
